Christina messaged me a few months back with the sweetest introduction. She included their entire story, how they met, photos of them throughout every stage of their relationship, and photos of their dog! She is a new-coming photographer herself and is just the absolute sweetest soul. She wanted to have anniversary photos along the stunning Big Sur coastline, and knew we were the team to make her vision come to life. I think we nailed it – from her BHLDN dress, to her beautiful bouquet and hairpiece by Cassia Foret.
These two traveled across the country from Mississippi to elope along the stunning Central California coastline of Big Sur. Their intimate ceremony beneath the towering redwoods at Glen Oaks Big Sur with the sound of the Big Sur River rippling nearby. They exchanged tender vows as the most stunning sunrays gleamed through the trees.
Nick and Grace are one of the most relaxed, amazing couples we’ve had the pleasure of meeting this year. They arrived in Big Sur with a few of their closest friends to their Glen Oaks cabin to celebrate their intimate union, followed by some epic photos prior to dinner. Josh Harney was along to capture the video, and we had the best time adventuring along the entire coast with these two.

On a beautiful sunny Saturday in San Francisco, we woke up with “no plans.” After going to our favorite breakfast spot in the city and playing a competitive game of backgammon on our roof, he told me that we had plans at 2:15pm and that I should wear something nice. At that point I had a suspicion a proposal might be coming but I had no idea what lay ahead for me and all the preparation and thought he had put into the day.

These two seriously showcase exactly why Adventure sessions are so amazing. We spent about 5 hours together, having lunch, talking about life + touring them through our favorite spots to see along the way down to the photo destinations. Along the way, we saw a ton of whales! It was seriously amazing. We stopped for 15 minutes to watch them swim off the shoreline as they migrated north.
These two are just so sweet, and I cannot even begin to express how happy we are for them to be finally married! After so many crazy circumstances, date changes for both engagement shoots and their wedding, and a whole crazy mess of details in between, they finally got the most beautiful wedding ceremony straight out of a dream! Just their closest family and friends surrounded them while they said their vows beneath a beautiful gazebo in a morning ceremony.
Jeremy planned the sweetest Pebble Beach proposal with all their family waiting from afar! Both being golf fans, they walked out to the final hole at Pebble where Jeremy asked Amanda if she would spend the rest of her life with him, and she said yes! Shortly after, the family (who had been watching with binoculars!) came down and congratulated them before heading off to a celebratory dinner. This entire family was seriously so fun and sweet, we cannot wait to photograph their wedding next fall!
Vikas proposed to Dhara during a vacation on a beautiful section of coastline along Big Sur with a stunning ring! These two were some of the sweetest people Austin and I have met in a long time! We probably could have sat and talked to them for days. Now here’s to hoping they move over this direction!
These two are so sweet, together for years upon years, they decided to have a semi-spontaneous re-commitment of their love together by having an intimate vow renewal during their trip to Big Sur. This ceremony was so simple, sweet, and beautifully appropriate as they continue their lives together!
For elopements with just the couple, a first look is not much different than a traditional ceremony. For weddings with even a handful of guests, considering a first look is a great idea for a few reasons!
The main reason we love first looks is because it provides you a private environment where you can be real with each other without any external pressures.
Alyssa reached out to us months prior to proposing to her girlfriend, Malina. She arranged to meet us at Secret Beach to ask Malina to marry her. They enjoyed the views for a few minutes before Alyssa dropped to a knee and asked Malina the question she’d been waiting to hear for years “Will you marry me?” Malina put all the pieces together and realized how it all happened. Through the happiest of tears, she said yes!
