When you get a bunch of creatives together, magic can really happen. This shoot was a great opportunity for Laura at View Point Events to showcase some of her new furniture, and for all the vendors involved to try a few new things. We traveled to the stunning Schwan Lake Park in Santa Cruz, CA for the unbelievable oak tree that Laura spotted forever ago and has always wanted to have in a shoot.
These two. We had only just met them but you could tell instantly their love was absolutely infectious. We got to the meeting point and it was much colder than expected, but there wasn’t a single other person in the entire area which really added to the magic of this moment for Jacob and Lanie. He wrote her a beautiful letter then proceeded to have her face the ocean while he could drop a knee to surprise her as she turned around. Lanie obviously and so excitedly said “yes!” and we could barely stop ourselves from running in to share in the excitement of the moment!! Jacob did such an amazing job on Lanie’s gorgeous custom ring and after a few quick photos, we left them to enjoy the stunning last few moments of the sun as it disappeared.
This was such a beautiful proposal – Raj and Nupi were running just a little late so it timed up almost flawlessly with the most stunning golden sunset! Raj wanted a simple picnic with all of Nupi’s favorite treats – champagne, and a cheese plate with her favorite cheese. We managed to get everything and keep it away from the hungry seagulls all while staying hidden from view so these two could stumble upon this sweet setup where Raj could finally ask Nupi to marry him! Everything was absolutely perfect and we simply couldn’t be happier for them!!
Claudia and Omar are just the best people, surrounded by such a great fun loving family. We probably could have stayed and partied with this group all night long! They had a traditional Catholic ceremony then everyone headed to the rengstorff house a short drive away to enjoy the rest of their evening with their closest family and friends.
Brittany and Alicia’s wedding was extra special for us. Brittany actually married Austin and I, and we always promised that when her day finally came, Austin would marry her. Well, it finally happened! We couldn’t possibly be any happier for these two and their wonderful families. We don’t get to see these two nearly as much as we wish we could, but being able to fly down and share their special day was such a pleasure. I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of these two in the future!
Steve contacted us a while back to arrange a special picnic scene for Laura to stumble upon during their trip to Monterey! We managed to sneak this stunning little set up in the most inconspicuous area that they could find during their coastal walk! The weather was a little foggy and cold but it added a beautiful touch to their day. Laura almost didn’t come down here because she was so convinced it was for someone else! These two were seriously the sweetest pair and we are so happy they’re engaged!!
Chris and Kathryn are two of the sweetest souls we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and photographing, I swear. These two and their love for each other is so pure and radiates from them entirely. You can see why they’re together the minute you meet them. It was honestly such an honor to photograph their elopement.
Peter and Stephanie had an intimate wedding along the stunning Big Sur coastline with their closest friends and family in attendance. Before their ceremony, we visited their penthouse suite at The Marriott in Monterey to take a few rooftop terrace photos, then we traveled down the coast to find some redwoods, rivers, fields, and of course, stunning cliffside overlooking the ocean.
Sara reached out to me a few months back asking if she could bring her dogs along to her engagement shoot as they were traveling to Carmel for a few days! I love where I live so much – partially because it’s one of the most Dog Friendly areas in the entire world! So many restaurants and shops have dog treats, water bowls, and even dog-approved menu options and dedicated dining areas within the restaurant! The craziest part? They’re really nice, high end restaurants. I just love it.
This has been a topic going around the photographer community for a while now, and a question I get asked surprisingly often from clients and potential clients, and especially new coming photographers as well. So many people aren’t educated on the realities of professional photography, which is why I’m writing this post.
